What's happening

Check out our calendar for a full list of what's going on at Mount Calvary. See below for some highlighted upcoming events.

April Service Project: Military & College Care Kits: As our final service project of the program year, we will provide care packages for our college students and military personnel. We will collect the following items from April 1- 18: gum drink mix (single-serving packets), protein bars, fruit snacks, lip balm (e.g., Chapstick) candy bars (full-size), playing cards, and mechanical pencils.

We will also include personal notes, letting the recipients know that we are thinking and praying for them. Please join us on Sunday, April 22, when we will gather at 9:40am – 10:00am for our all-generation learning activity where we will assemble the packages and prepare them for mailing. We have received a Thrivent Action Grant to pay for the postage.

Children's Musical: On Sunday April 29, the Joy & Alleluia Choirs present “Malice in the Palace, The Story of Esther” for both worship times. From the foreword to the musical, “The story of Esther has all the ingredients for a great Hollywood thriller-a spirited heroine, a dark-hearted villain, a twisting plot full of danger and intrigue, and a cliffhanger of a climax. And in the midst of this excitement we find a powerful message-the smallest person acting bravely can make an enormous difference, for God has placed us where we are for a reason.” One of Mount Calvary’s strengths is our ability to give many of our youth a chance to offer their gifts, talents, passions, and curiosities in either worship or service. Our spring musical is one way to offer the gifts of music and drama together. Everyone who wants a line or more, gets one…or more! They have been working hard on this musical since last fall. We hope you will be moved by the story and by the song.

Bible Study on Acts: Starting on Sunday, February 18, holding a Bible study on parts of the Book of Acts. We will look at the book from a historical literary perspective and talk about what it means for us today. We will meet during the faith formation time between services (Sundays at 9:40, skipping the 4th Sunday of each month so that all can attend the service projects) in the B1-B3 classroom area downstairs. Join us!
