Faith Formation and Youth

  • We will have many opportunities as a community for faith formation on Sunday mornings in the coming year. Below are brief descriptions of these opportunities. Click here for more information on what's happening on Sunday mornings (other than worship, of course).

If you would like to volunteer to help with any of our Sunday morning faith formation programs or have questions, please contact Pastor Rome at pastor.rome@mtcalvary.com or Brian Hornbecker at brian.hornbecker@mtcalvary.com.

  • Confirmation is the time for youth to pay special attention to their faith at a critical point in their lives. We learn about the most important things in the Bible and in our faith in large groups and build relationships with each other in small groups. We also take field trips to learn about other religions and important life events. Click here for more about our confirmation program.

  • Adult Classes

Bible Study on Acts: Starting on Sunday, February 18, holding a Bible study on parts of the Book of Acts. We will look at the book from a historical literary perspective and talk about what it means for us today. We will meet during the faith formation time between services (Sundays at 9:40, skipping the 4th Sunday of each month so that all can attend the service projects) in the B1-B3 classroom area downstairs. Join us!

  • Mount Calvary youth group (for high school-age youth) meets every Wednesday night during the school year at 7:45 for fellowship time. We also have events like service projects, lock-outs, and lock-ins, as well as one large-scale trip every summer. Click here for more info.

  • As we journey through life, we often rely on people to show us the way. Children are no different, as they look to the adults in their life to help guide them on their faith journey. Mount Calvary feels called to help our children along this spiritual path as they learn and grow. To help with this mission we have developed our Milestone Ministry program, designed to help children and parents through some significant milestones in their life, and to help educate them about what it means to be a person of faith. Click here for more information.

  • birth - 3 yr sunday school

A parent/child class designed for children birth - age 3. Expecting parents and grandparents are welcome, too! Class begins as a large group with Bible story and songs, and then parents separate for a special talk time (in same room with kids) while the kids are busy being entertained. Join this lively class the first Sunday of each month during the school year at 10:00 a.m. downstairs in the Preschool Area. Families enter the 10:15am Worship in time for communion.
