Adult Faith Formation

We will have two faith formation opportunities specifically designed for adults this fall...

First, Join Rev. Joseph Lees and Katy Ross on Wednesday evenings (5:45-6:30pm beginning September 13) as we explore By Heart: Conversations with Martin Luther’s Small Catechism, a course designed to explore the biblical and historical context of the Small Catechism, its link to the church’s faith, and its connection to Luther’s life and your life today. Each session will consist of a short video, time for discussion on the book, and an opportunity hear the words of the Small Catechism in a new way.

Second, starting October 1st, we will begin a book study group, discussing A Good Time for Truth: Race in Minnesota (edited by Sun Yung Shin). The book is a compilation of essays written by accomplished Minnesotan writers, describing their experiences as people of color living in Minnesota. Copies of the book will be available to borrow or purchase ($20). The group will meet in one of the meeting rooms on the lower level from 9:40-10:20am on the first two Sundays of each month. All adults and teens are welcome to join the discussion. (Parents should be advised that the book contains some strong language, such as curse words and racial slurs.) Join us for the challenging work of addressing racism in our home state and in ourselves.
