Confirmation is the time for youth to pay special attention to their faith at a critical point in their lives. We learn about the most important things in the Bible and in our faith in large groups and build relationships with each other in small groups. We also take field trips to learn about other religions and important life events. 7th & 8th graders participate in confirmation group time on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00pm. Youth are confirmed in a special worship service in the fall of their 9th grade year.
Confirmation is open to all 7th and 8th graders for the 2017-2018 school year—friends and family are welcome to join in too! Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more info and/or click on the registration forms and information documents below:
Beginning Wednesday, January 3, eighth grade confirmation youth and parents will start a learning series on Faith and Life. For seven weeks, youth and parents will have the opportunity to think about birth, addiction, leaving home, work, marriage, aging and death. Each session features special speakers. Many weeks, class will take place off-site. Youth and parents meet at church at 6:30 p.m. and carpool to class locations. Click here for more information.
For 7th grade students, our other faiths field trips will begin in mid-January! These field trips give us opportunities to visit different places of worship and learn about the faith of others. We hope that this will help us to better understand our neighbors and cause us to think about our own practices and beliefs as Lutheran Christians. Parents are asked to attend these trips with their youth. The experiences create great conversation among families. Click here for a letter with more information.
