Overview of Position:

The primary foci of this position will be to 1) oversee and coordinate communications and marketing of the church, consistent with the mission and vision of the church, 2) oversee and coordinate with our tech support company the computer network system including equipment and software and 3) responsible for the day-to-day organization and coordination of office operations, procedures, and resources.

 

HOURS: 40 hours per week including Wednesday evenings

RESPONSIBILITIES

Communications

  • Manage and prepare print communications including bulletins, newsletters, brochures, postcards, flyers and bulletin boards
  •  Serve as webmaster and coordinate related work and efforts of volunteers/staff
  • Oversee production of electronic newsletters and communications
  •  Develop and maintain social media platforms
  •  Create electronic files for use on sanctuary display

 

Marketing

  •  Work with other staff in designing Mount Calvary’s brand and implementing marketing strategies
  • Oversee and implement the communication plan for social media usage
  • Assist pastors and administrator with preparation of stewardship materials
  • Create designs and advertisements that promote the church brand and themes

 

Technology

  • In conjunction with the technology team and consultant company, provide oversight of the computer network system and maintain overall responsibility for user criteria plans for growth and improvement, network management software selection and staff training
  • Provide technology support for appropriate equipment
  • Develop and manage technology budget

Administration

  • Handle all day-to-day operations of the office including phones, email, mailings, visitors, and maintaining the physical presence and functionality of office
  • Provide administrative support for the children, youth & family and education programs
  • Implement standard operating procedure (SOP) and policy changes to improve operational efficiency
  • Maintain current physical and electronic office filing systems.
  • Ensure security and confidentiality of data

Outreach/Mission/Fellowship

  • Oversee the Wednesday Night Supper program including the chefs, coordinators & volunteers
  • Plan and coordinate collections for mission outreach

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in communications, marketing and/or web development
  • Creativity and innovative spirit
  • Tolerance for experimentation and willingness to fail
  • 2-3 years of professional administrative and communications experience
  • Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, able to multi-task
  • Highly computer literate – MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, content management website, blogs, social media, and databases
  • Strong planning, prioritizing and time management skills

Children's Faith Formation Coordinator

Children’s Faith Formation Coordinator

Overview of Position:

The primary focus of this position is to support Sunday morning faith formation classes for children 3 years old through 6th grade.

 

HOURS: 10 hours per week (Includes Sunday mornings and flexible weekday office hours)


RESPONSIBILITIES


Oversee Faith Formation on Sunday Mornings (September-May)

  •         Collaborate with pastors, staff, and volunteers to experiment with multi-generational faith formation opportunities
  •         Lead staff for Sunday morning Faith Formation
  •         Find replacement teachers and leaders as necessary
  •         Be present Sunday mornings to check in with teachers and leaders, take care of last minute logistics. 
  •         Look ahead each week with room designations, set ups, supplies needed, etc.
  •         Keep inventory of supplies and order as needed
  •         Attend Children, Youth, and Family Leadership Team meetings (4-6 times a year)

 

Organize Vacation Bible School (May-June)

  •      Serve as contact person for Luther Crest Bible Camp – All Ages Camp (July) and Vacation Bible School (VBS)
  •      Organize housing and meals for Luther Crest staff
  •      Support camp staff, volunteers, parents, and students throughout the week of VBS (June 21-25, 2020)
  •      Work with volunteers to organize after care (3:00-5:30 pm)
