Vacation Bible School

UPDATE 5/18/20: As you may have expected, VBS will not be happening this summer the way we had planned. We continue to listen to Gov. Walz, medical professionals, and scientists on making the best decisions we can on when and how we will gather together. It appears unlikely that we will be able to gather children safely by mid-June. In addition, Luther Crest Bible Camp has been leading our VBS for the last several years, and they recently made the decision to cancel all summer programming this year. However, they will be providing content/ curriculum that we will have access to late this summer. We are tentatively planning something for August. It will most certainly look differently than traditional VBS, but we are hopeful that we can find ways to connect, even if that means exclusively online. We will be reaching out in the coming months asking for feedback on what that could look like.

VBS is held for a week in the early part of the summer, Monday through Thursday. The full-day program, for those students currently in 1st-6th grade, will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The half-day program, for students currently in Pre-K or Kindergarten, will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day. Please note that these grades refer to the academic year they just completed. Please also note that 6th graders are invited to participate as campers. Those in 7th grade or above are invited to volunteer as junior counselors.

As those who have been to VBS in prior years know, each day will be filled with a number of learning activities, “Bible dives,” and, of course, fun and games. Students will need to bring a lunch each day; snacks will be provided. We will let you know in advance of any other materials that need to be brought, such as swim gear for the ever-so-popular water day.
