“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
Baptism is at the heart of who we are as Lutheran Christians. It is a sacrament that has been practiced since Jesus commanded his disciples to baptize. With water and the Word God gives us a great gift. When we are baptized, God forgives our sin and gives us life everlasting. Our faith begins at our baptism. Through baptism, God claims us as God’s own and welcomes us into God’s family.
We believe that baptism is for all people, from infants to adults. Faith is a gift received from God no matter what our age! In the case of infants and young children, the promise of the parents or guardians to raise the child in the faith is an important part of the baptismal service.
Once a year we have a class for parents/grandparents/guardians on infant faith development. We learn together ways we can nurture babies’ faith at home.
Scheduling a baptism
Baptisms can be held on any Sunday of the month, at any service. Occasionally there are special events on Sundays where a baptism would not work. Please contact the church office to determine what Sundays are available.
The baptism form must be turned in to the office two weeks before the baptism. When we receive the form, we will e-mail you to verify that the information has been received.
To inquire about a baptism please download this brochure and email the completed form to email@example.com.
