WEAR RED!
Pentecost is one of those Sundays where we go all in on a color: red! It represents the Holy Spirit, often shown as fire and wind in the scriptures. If you've got something red in your closet, now's the time.
So what's Pentecost all about? Think of it as the birthday of the church. Fifty days after Easter, the Holy Spirit showed up with rushing wind, flames, people suddenly able to speak languages they'd never learned. It was a lot. But the heart of it is that God's presence came to rest not just in one place or with one person, but with all people. The Spirit shows up in each of us differently. Through different gifts, different strengths, but it's the same Spirit holding us all together. Pretty good reason to celebrate outside!
