MACV Veteran Housing Info Session

Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) Info Session

Sunday, May 5 During and After 9:30am Worship

Join us in considering an important decision for our congregation: the potential sale of property to Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV).

MACV is dedicated to aiding Veterans facing unique housing challenges, striving to offer long-term solutions and ultimately end Veteran homelessness in Minnesota. Together with MACV, we are exploring the possibility of selling a property—specifically the land hosting the parsonage and white farmhouse—to support the creation of permanent housing for local veterans in need.

Learn more about this initiative as MACV presents their plan (which will not be livestreamed) during our 9:30am worship service on Sunday, May 5, followed by an information session in the Fireside Room. This will be an opportunity to ask questions and gain deeper insights into the project.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 19, when members of Mount Calvary will vote on the sale of this property to MACV. Your participation is invaluable as we consider how best to support our community and those in need.

Have questions? Submit them here, and MACV will do their best to answer them during the May 5 information session.

Lenten Worship Series: 'Build a Longer Table'

You may have heard the quote, “if you have more than you need, build a longer table, not a higher wall.” Throughout this Lenten season, we'll imagine the kind of table that Jesus sets for all of us. Let's open our hearts and minds, continuing to widen the tables we sit at to include all, following the example set by Jesus.

Worship services will be held every Wednesday at 6:30 pm.

Here's the weekly schedule:

  • Week 1 - February 21: The Ones Missing from the Table (Luke 7:36-50)

  • Week 2 - February 28: The Ones at Jesus' Table (Luke 15)

  • Week 3 - March 6: A Table With Our Enemies (Psalm 23)

  • Week 4 - March 13: The Lord’s Table (Matthew 26:26-29)

  • Week 5 - March 20: Rising From the Table (John 21)

Come and join us in this reflective journey every Wednesday night during Lent!
